Kathy York

Kathy York is the President, a licensed agent, and an Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) specializing in both Commercial and Personal Lines. She began her insurance career in 1982 at a small agency in Jacksonville, Texas. In 1993, Kathy joined Hanks Insurance Group, Inc., working under Dock Hanks. In 2024, she purchased the agency and rebranded it as York Insurance Services, Inc. With over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kathy is dedicated to using her expertise to serve her clients with exceptional care and support.

Catie Wilson

Catie Wilson keeps the agency’s accounting running smoothly. A proud 2012 graduate of Mildred High School, she went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Navarro College in 2014. Catie has been part of the agency family for eight years and is currently working toward her Agent’s License. When she’s not crunching numbers, Catie runs her own photography business, Simply Cate Photography. Life outside the office is just as busy — she’s a proud mom to two beautiful little girls and loves spending time with her husband in the roping pen.

Jan Richey

Jan Richey, Licensed Agent, has a long-standing history with the agency, having previously worked part-time as an agent during summers while pursuing her teaching career. She graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1996 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. After 22 years in education, Jan retired from teaching and transitioned into a full-time role as an agent and customer service representative. She has now been with the agency for seven years, managing Personal Lines and assisting Kathy with Commercial Lines when needed. Jan is also currently working toward earning her Life and Health Insurance License.

Our Story

Kathy York began her career in the insurance industry in 1982, working as an insurance clerk at a small agency in Jacksonville, Texas. She later moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she served as a licensed agent for two years. Following that, Kathy relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana, working as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative before advancing to the role of Personal Lines Manager. In 1993, she returned to her hometown of Corsicana, Texas, where she joined Hanks Insurance Group, Inc. under Dock Hanks as a Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative.

Throughout her career, Kathy has been licensed as a General Lines Agent in Texas, Arizona, and Louisiana, and recently added a Texas Life and Health License to her credentials. She often says, “I didn’t choose insurance as a career—insurance chose me.”

In 2015, Kathy founded York Insurance Services, Inc. and entered into a ten-year management contract with Dock Hanks to oversee Hanks Insurance Group as he prepared for retirement. The plan was for Kathy to fully transition into ownership at the end of the contract; however, following Dock’s passing in June 2024, she purchased the agency from Debbie Hanks and officially began operating under the York Insurance Services, Inc. name.

Kathy holds the ACSR (Accredited Customer Service Representative) designation in both Commercial and Personal Lines. She is licensed in General Lines and Life and Health Insurance.

With more than 40 years of experience and comprehensive industry knowledge, Kathy is a well-rounded agent committed to providing exceptional service and meeting all of her clients’ insurance needs.
